The Do’s & Do’s Checklist for Crypto Events

Define your purpose

Different Crypto and Blockchain events offer different opportunities. Decide what your main objective in attending a given Crypto conference will be. Is it meeting VCs? Finding job openings? Learning about interesting ideas? Discovering new apps and services? Be sure to check out our Crypto Events Calendar for a list of upcoming Web3 events.

Identify and prioritize meeting targets
Prepare a list of people you’d like to meet, divided by tiers. For instance, Tier 1 could be people you might happen to see at mealtimes or pass in the hallway, giving you a brief chance to chat. Tier 2 could be high-priority contacts with whom you will ideally spend more time during the event. See how many of these you can line up in advance, for example, by offering to meet for a coffee.

Highlight interesting panels and keynotes

All good Blockchain events start with careful planning. If you know in advance what sessions you want to attend, there’s less chance you’ll find yourself standing outside a crowded room, having failed to arrive early enough for a seat.

Make sure you don’t miss out on side events

Some of the best networking opportunities at Crypto events can happen during informal encounters at fringe meetings. If you can, sign up for these events ahead of time, particularly if attendee numbers are limited.

Join the conversation

If there’s a social app or Telegram channel dedicated to the conference, join it and make some introductory posts on the public forums. Similarly, many Blockchain events have a hashtag, so use this in posts on your social media channels to increase the chances of encountering other attendees.

Find the media list

You can usually find the media list in the conference group or app. Press attend Web3 events to seek out interesting stories, which explains why companies often drop their announcements at these. If you have a launch coming up or a piece of news to share, make sure the right press outlets know about it.

Socialize near the booth area

The real business happens away from the stage. There’s no right way to do it, but remember that everyone at the event is there to talk with other people about Crypto and Blockchain. Relax, introduce yourself to people, and enjoy the conversations that develop!
